This research was aimed to design and create a device named an Electronically Tourism Map with ATmega 8535 Microcontroller-based. This device functioned to assist people, especially to some tourists visiting Yogyakarta for any reason such as finding some exciting places in this town. By using this device, therefore, it would be very useful for visitors to find some interesting places in Yogyakarta. This device was developed into some steps namely, (1) Needs identification, (2) Needs Analysis, (3) System Design, (4) Hardware Design, (5) Software Design, (6) Operational Technique, and (7) Device Testing. The design of this device was realized by combining several systems, that is power supply, Minimum System circuit, push button, dot-matrix LED (Light Emitting Diode) System, and 20x4 LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) system. Each of those systems has its main function. The power supply produced a 5v pressure supplied to LED and LCD circuit. ATmega 8535 Microcontroller functioned as a processing unit in the Minimum System circuit. Then, there are 8 push buttons functioned as a command input while LED and LCD as its output. The design of the software as a controller program in ATmega 8535 Microcontroller used C language program and CVAVR software as its compiler. The eight button in this device functioned as a home menu for choosing the category of the destination place, such as travelling, history, museum, arts, market, beach, foods, and hotel. Each of the menu buttons has five different tourism resort location, so the total tourism resorts in this device is 40 locations. The LED on the map showed the tourism resorts location, while the LCD functioned as an information giver (the information conclude the location name, full address and active phone number). After conducting a data analysis and data testing, it can be concluded that this device can work successfully as it designed. It can receive a command from the push button, processed inside the microcontroller and produced it by the output through LED as a location finder and LCD as an information giver.
