Implementation of the IPFE algorithm for synthesis of high order recursive filters

This paper describes the problems of numerical implementations of the IPFE algorithm for partitioning high order filters into parallel interconnected subfilters. To address these problems, a modification to the original IPFE algorithm is proposed. Although the new algorithm was developed to give improved reliability over the original algorithm, initial results indicate that due to the ill-conditioning of a key matrix, the new algorithm is much worse.>
