SHAMUS - A SENSOR-BASED INTEGRATED MOBILE PHONE INSTRUMENT
Georg Essl, Michael Rohs · 2007
ShaMus is a sensor-based approach to turning mobile devices into musical instruments. The idea is to have the mobile device be an independent instrument on its own right. The sensors used are accelerometers and magnetometers as can now be found in some commercial mobile devices. The sound generation is also embedded on the phone itself and allows individual and untethered gestural performance through striking, shaking and sweeping gestures.
