Spread Spectrum Signals for Digital Communications

John G. Proakis · 2003

Abstract Spread spectrum signals is a class of signals that were designed primarily for use in digital communication systems to overcome either intentional or unintentional interference. We begin by illustrating the basic elements of a spread spectrum digital communication system. Next, we consider the transmission of a binary information sequence by means of binary PSK. Later, we discuss frequency‐hopped (FH) spread spectrum. Finally, we close with a section on commercial spread spectrum systems.
