Camera Calibration Using Line Correspondences
Richard I. Hartley · 1993
In this paper , a method of deter mining the essential matr ix for uncalibr ated camer#O is given, based on line matches inthr#8 images. The thr#O camer#q may havedi#er ent unknown calibr ations, and the essential matr ices cor r esponding to each of the thr#O pair# of camer#7 may be deter#LM108 Deter#OOM108q of the essential matr# x for uncalibr#L ed camer#L is impor# ant, for# ing the basis for many algor# thms such as computation of invar# ants image r#eM ification, camer# calibr#M10 and scener econstr#6M10q6 In the case wher e all thethr ee camer as ar e assumed to have the same unknown calibr#6 ion, the method of Fauger#9 and Maybank ([3, 4]) may be used to calibr #9O thecamer#V The scene may then ber#8960M10LVL9 exactly (up to a scaled Euclidean tr ansfor mation). This extendspr eviousr esults of Weng, Huang and Ahuja ([12]) who gave a method for scener econstr uction fr om 13 line cor#69 ondences using a calibr ated camer a. The pr esent paper shows that the the camer a may be calibr ated at the same time that the scene geometr y is deter mined.
