Towards a Comprehensive Model of Context for Mobile and Wireless Computing
Peter Tarasewich · Journal of the Association for Information Systems · 2003
A key to the success of mobile applications is the proper use of context. This paper presents a model of context for mobile and wireless computing environments. The model consists of three categories of contextenvironment, participants, and activities -along with any interactions that may exist between and within the categories.Time is also incorporated into the model, allowing for a context history that can be used for predicting future context. The model can be used as a guide to the development of mobile applications and as a common reference point for present and future research studies in the area of mobile and ubiquitous computing.
