Hosting and managing large sets of virtual microscopy slides on the internet for E-learning and for reference

Collections of virtual microscopy slides for E-Learning and for reference purposes require a highly structured design in order to effectively organize the content and provisions to manage a large image base. Here we report our experience with in setting up three internet sites for pathology, that manage up to 5600 slides each.
