On the Application of Wavelets to Model Predictive Control

Functions localized in both the time and frequency domains can serve as bases for signals. The paper reviews multiresolution analysis, and describes several advantages of using wavelet and wavelet-like basis functions for control. Model predictive control using a wavelet basis is demonstrated.
