In this work an endeavor has been made to prepare conductive polymer composites using natural rubber as the matrix and conducting NR powder as the filler. The intrinsically conducting cis1,4 polyisoprene powder was prepared by treating the materials with Lewis acid treatment. The filler concentration was varied from 10 phr to 50 phr. The current voltage characteristics of the composite were studied using an impedence meter in the range of 5 Hz to 13 MHz. Due to the easy availability and cost effectiveness, it is considered as an attractive potential candidate in the optoelectronic fields with applications including polymer light emitting diodes.
