A Business Process Evaluation Methodology for Knowledge Management Based on Multicriteria Decision‐Making Approach

Mohamed Turki, Inès Saad, Faı̈ez Gargouri, Gilles Kassel · 2014

In an organizational context, characterization and evaluation of business processes (BPs) are necessary to locate knowledge that needs to be capitalized upon. This chapter proposes a multicriteria methodology for identifying sensitive BPs for knowledge localization. It presents the related works to analyze the approaches that define some criteria for characterizing and evaluating the BPs. The chapter presents the dominance-based rough set approach (DRSA), and the sensitive BP identifying methodology. The decision support system for identifying a sensitive organization's processes (OP-DSS) is based on the multicriteria decision-making approach and the DRSA to infer the decision rules that are necessary to classify potential sensitive organization's processes. The chapter describes the application of the proposed methodology in the context of the association of disabled people. One important finding of the proposed methodology is the use of multicriteria analysis and rough set theory in the field of knowledge management.
