Fock space representations in neural field theories

We outline a computational model of syntactic lan-guage processing based on Smolensky’s Fock space representations of symbolic expressions using spherical wave functions. Symbolic computation, regarded as non-linear operators acting upon these waves, provides a dis-crete sequence of training patterns that could be used to solve the inverse problem of neural field theories in or-der to determine the synaptic connectivity/weight kernels. The solutions of a neural field equation should then pro-vide a model of event-related brain potentials that are elicited by syntactic processing problems.
