Integrity Control of Spreadsheets: Organisation & Tools
Kamalasen Rajalingham, David Robert Chadwick · 1998
This paper describes a new approach to the provision of a software engineering discipline for the spreadsheet life-cycle: from requirements, to design, implementation and subsequent maintenance. This approach addresses the widespread problem of spreadsheet errors, which are analysed in detail and the outcome of which is a more comprehensive classification of errors than presented before. It is accompanied and supported by appropriate examples. This new approach differs from other approaches in that it is based on an analysis of spreadsheet structure. The elements of this approach are explained and illustrated with examples. It’s potential for integrity control is also discussed, especially based on the types of errors it will detect, reduce or prevent.
