At the beginning of this chapter, visual attention is briefly introduced from both biological and engineering perspectives. As the emphasis of this book, saliency map computational models lying in the intersection area for biology, psychology and engineering are highlighted again. Section 9.1 summarizes the content of the whole book, and presents the connection between chapters and sections. In Section 9.2, several critical issues of visual attention modelling are discussed, while some final conclusions are given in Section 9.3.
