How to recover main memory databases from a system failure
Le Gruenwald, Margaret H. Eich · AIP conference proceedings · 1993
A major research issue in the area of main memory databases (MMDB) is how to quickly recover data in a violatile main memory after a system failure. In this paper, the problems that need to be solved in order to recover data efficiently are discussed. A solution to each of the problems is given, different recovery algorithms and their simulation results are described. In case the main memory is not large enough to hold the entire database, the modifications made to these algorithms to partially recover the database are presented.
