Interface for digital medical image databases

The paper presents an Internet-based software architecture for medical imaging research. An implementation for access of a digital database of screen mammography is discussed. Some experiments demonstrate the usefulness of this implementation in a study for segmentation of mammograms as part of a computer-aided decision framework.
