MDA and Programming Languages

One of the open issues in Model Driven Architecture (MDA) is how to automatically transform the Platform Independent Model (PIM) over the Platform Specific Model (PSM) into source code - currently this is only possible for a few domains using UML profiles, but the major goal is to minimize the required interaction by the programmer / designer at these steps in the general case.
