Motion tracking of the facial components using constraints by the facial muscles

Hitoshi Saji, Hiromasa Nakatani · 2002

We propose a method of tracking the continual motions of facial components, such as the eyes, eyebrows, and mouth in time-varying facial images taken by a video camera. The motions of the components are anatomically determined from the motion of a head and the deformations of facial muscles. We propose to use such anatomical knowledge to track the motions of the facial components precisely and efficiently.
