Aircraft path planning based on GA in the moving threats environment

Qi Feng, Zhenyu Wang, Zhaohui Bai · Chinese Control Conference · 2013

For given circumstances (i.e., a collision situation in the sky), aircrafts are required to avoid the moving threats frequently, and to reach the endpoint safely. In the complex environment of moving threats, it is difficult to find the exactly path that the safety of aircrafts can not be guaranteed. By taking into account certain boundaries of the maneuvering region, along with information on navigation obstacles and other moving planes, the problem of avoiding collisions in the sky is reduced to a dynamic optimization task with static and dynamic constraints. In order to accelerate the searching process, the precise environment model is established which including both the static and dynamic constraints, and the time element is attached to the searching process. The genetic algorithm with the genetic operators improved makes the searching more efficiency. Under all the conditions, a safe path of the plane in a collision situation is determined. The simulation results show that the average fitness of the population is higher and the searching process computes faster.
