Using VMware for dual operating systems

Rance D. Necaise · Journal of computing sciences in colleges · 2001

Many small college computing environments are limited to a Windows platform due to limited resources. There are a number of options for introducing Unix to a small computing environment or expanding its use with little expense. The most common approaches in the past have been the use of X-servers under Windows and dual boot systems. With the more recent introduction of VMware, a new and better alternative is now available. In this paper, we review the common approaches and introduce the use of VMware for dual operating systems.
