Weil and Sidel'nikov binary sequences belong to the category of Pseudo Random Noise (PRN) codes which are a binary coded sequence with certain auto and cross correlation properties. These sequences when used in GPS satellite transmission help in distinguishing different satellites that transmit on the same frequency. The sequences also have the required randomness property to be used in cryptographic applications. The generation method of these sequences holds the key whether they are used for GPS based applications or cryptographic applications. The generation of these codes is quite different from the traditional shift register based PRN codes; hence it is necessary to find the right method to generate these codes to make way for future research. In this paper we describe an efficient method of generating Sidel'nikov sequences and Legendre sequence which in turn is used to construct Weil sequences. One of these sequences is then used to encrypt and decrypt an audio signal using the TMS320DM6437 DSP processor.
