A system that automatically measures and records the concentration of six different gases from twelve animal exposure chambers supplied with diluted, laboratory-produced automobile exhaust and other gases is described. The gases are sequentially fed from the animal exposure chambers to the appropriate gas analyzing instrument. Multipoint recorders connected to the output of the gas instruments register the concentrations and control the sequence of the gas measurements. A data acquisition system is also connected to the output of the gas instruments to record on a punched paper tape the time of measurement and the gas concentration. The data are punched on cards or inserted directly into a digital computer for analysis.
