Vocabularies for Video Event Detection

In general, event detection systems can be characterized by two main components: video vocabulary and event modeling. The video vocabulary converts the raw video data into a feature vector, which contains the multimodal information considered useful for detecting the event of interest. The event modeling component learns a model for each event detection. This article discusses both low‐ and high‐level vocabularies for video event detection. In addition, representative benchmarks for evaluating event detection are also presented.
