A Web Service‐Based Public‐Oriented Personalized Health Care Platform

Wei Tan, MengChu Zhou · 2013

The new prevention-oriented comprehensive health care mode calls for individual-oriented personalized health care service platforms. This chapter describes a general public-oriented service platform that can provide customizable and personalized health care services for individuals. Its architecture, main services, service composition needs, and user preferences are given. The chapter discusses key service composition techniques to build the platform, and highlights its implementation status. It overviews the system architecture of the Public-oriented Health care Information Service Platform (PHISP). Achieving automatic Web service composition (WSC) to support more control constructs for better performance is a challenging issue. The chapter focuses on the service composition techniques that can well support branch or choice structures. In the process of service composition, if some component services participating in a composite service can be executed in parallel, we should seek the maximal parallelism in their execution.
