Human-computer debating system evaluation and development

The document describes the work on the development of a human computer debating System. This system was originally developed by Dr. Tangming Yuan and is a game that allows human user to debate against a computer. The necessary steps in the evolving process were to evaluate the system with potential users. Therefore a user evaluation was carried out on students in the University of Akureryi. The evaluation results gave information on the status of the system. In the light of the evaluation, modi cations were made. A further user based evaluation was conducted afterwards, which con rm the modi cation made. It is anticipated that this work will contribute toward the development of human computer dialogue in general and computer based learning in particular.
