8-Bit Classics
Heather G. Gordon · SPECS journal of art and culture · 2009
These works have progressed from an interest in computing systems, language, visualization, and sequential representation. Text from the titled classic works of literature is converted from its ASCII representation to 8-bit binary resulting in an unbroken string of 1’s and 0’s. Where a 1 exists in the string, a dark area is plotted. The string begins near the center of the circle on line 1 and radiates outward, progressing around the circle. 8-Bit Classics
