From university wide outcomes to course embedded assessment of CS1

This paper discusses the implementation of course embedded assessment in CS 1. Each programming assignment is assessed using criteria that are linked to course objectives. These course objectives are linked to Computer Science degree outcomes which are linked to University Wide Outcomes. The results of student surveys of CS1/CS2 are given along with the results of the course embedded assessment of programming assignments.
