The Frequential Functional Framework

Jean‐Charles Pinoli · 2014

In the frequency functional framework, a gray-tone image is considered as an integrable function or square-integrable gray-tone function, apprehended in terms of periodic spatial components. It is studied by expansion on a basis of periodic elementary gray-tone functions, like sinusoids, in order to determine their relative contributions to the information content of the gray-tone image. This chapter begins with a discussion on the mathematical concepts and structures for the frequency functional framework. Subsequently, it examines the main approaches for IPA, and the main applications to IPA such as image restoration.
