How to Move Mobile Agents
P. Alimonti, Ferdinando Lucidi, Sebastiano Trigila · 2001
Chapter seventeen examines the problem of optimising mobile agent efficiency when touring a network of sites. Two scenarios are considered: in the first, the object is to minimise the time for touring the network; in the second, the object is to minimise the latency of the network. Using concepts and techniques drawn from combinatorial optimisation methods, the authors present a framework in which such problems can be stated and some particular solutions of practical interest. Relevant applications in which tour planning problems arise include electronic commerce and information retrieval.
