Modeling Dynamic Systems
2001
As a minimum, the following sections should illustrate the commonality between various engineering systems. Although units and constants may vary, electrical, mechanical, thermal, liquid, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems all require the same approach with respect to modeling. Certain components may be nonlinear in one system and linear in another, but the equation formulation is identical. As a result of this phenomenon, control system theory is very useful and capable of controlling a wide variety of physical systems.
