Spatial Prediction in the H.264/AVC FRExt Coder and its Optimization

The chapter has described the block-based spatial prediction strategy adopted within the H.2634/AVC FRExt standard and stated the problem of enabling a low-complexity Intra coding on mobile devices. An overview of different techniques has been presented underlying the characteristics of each solution and the required complexity.
