SSOAPaaS 3.0 Cookbook

Ernesto Expósito, Codé Diop · 2014

The last release smart service-oriented architecture (SOA) platform as a service solution (SSOAPaaS 3.0) includes the components intended to guarantee the manageability, scalability and self-manageability requirements. This chapter collects the basic recipes to cover these requirements. This recipe is intended to describe the creation and deployment of a virtual container including a monitoring component in order to satisfy the manageability requirement of the platform. Jolokia is the JXM-compliant tool used for monitoring. The chapter describes how the platform can be monitored using the JMX console or Glassfish administration console, and illustrates how the platform servers (ESB and AS) can be clustered or federated in order to guarantee a scalability of deployed applications. It proposes a generic algorithm in order to implement the autonomic management loop (monitoring, analysis, planning and execution) aimed at providing self-management capabilities of the SOA platform.
