Automated detection of road intersections from ERS-1 SAR imagery

Location of road intersections were estimated automatically from ERS-1 single look SAR imagery using a Hough transform based approach. After applying a despeckle filtering which preserves small features in the SAR images, several practical methods to facilitate detection of peaks in a Hough space were developed.
