Web-Based Testing for Distance Education.
Peter L. Brusilovsky, Philip L. Miller · World Conference on WWW and Internet · 1999
This paper provides a technology-based review of World Wide Web-based testing technologies. It suggests an evaluation framework that could be used by practitioners in Web-based education to understand and compare features available in various Web-based testing systems. In order to compare existing options, the life cycle of a question in Web-based education is divided into three stages: (1) preparation, including authoring support, storage, and selection; (2) delivery, including presentation, interaction, and getting the answer; and (3) assessment, including evaluation, grading and recording, and feedback.
