Voice activity detection algorithm improvement in adaptive multi-rate speech coding of 3GPP

Aimed at the voice activity detection algorithm in adaptive multi-rate speech coding scheme of 3GPP, a novel and accurate speech activity detection algorithm was developed in this article. The new algorithm was simpler than original in performance and would bring the effect as good as the old one, especially superior to former algorithm in estimation of voice tail.
