Optimal message log reclamation for uncoordinated checkpointing

An algorithm is presented for identifying all garbage message logs in systems requiring message logging to record in-transit messages. The approach is based on a previously derived method for identifying garbage checkpoints by means of recovery line transformation and decomposition.
