DESIGN OF TEMPERATURE CONTROL SYSTEM ON THE CHICKEN’S EGG INCUBATOR

Endah Lis Setiarini · 2014

This research aims to design and make temperature control for the chicken’s egg incubator in accordance with the desired set point and to analyze the temperature control system in the chicken’s egg incubator using an ON-OFF control system circuit. The temperature control system in the chicken’s egg incubator was controlled by a circuit of temperature transducer using two inputs into a differential amplifier (IC LM 358). These ware the output of the voltage divider as voltage reference ()and a feedback signal from the temperature sensor LM 35DZ as input voltage ( !). The two inputs of the differential amplifier caused the amplifier to respond the two inputs by processing comparison and resulting in an error signal. If LM 358 output with positive polarity (+) was greater than 0,77 V, switching transistor would reach saturation. The saturation caused the switch to be activated so that the four light bulbs would be ON and produced heat. This went the other way around. This equipment was able to control the temperature required in order to hatch eggs properly which was from (38.5 to 40.5) ° C. The capacity of this equipment was 20 eggs and this had been tested properly to incubate eggs. During the first trial 12 eggs were hatched among 16 eggs. This means that the success rate of the first trial was 75 %. For the second trial there were 12 eggs among 14 eggs were hatched, so that the success rate was 85,71 %.
