The measurement and classification of impairment for DVTR transports

The author discusses which of the many sources of impairment in the transports of digital video tape recorders (DVTR) are particularly important, and describes a method for resolving the overall impairment into these constituents. This method includes one stage of nonlinear analysis (of a potential family of nonlinear distortion mechanisms), and is implemented on a computer simulation system. >
