The network being developed at the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory will link together several large (super) computers, a large data 12 base ( 10bits), and a variety of remote computers and terminals.The major goals of the network are to provide a common data base for all users and computers and a significant remote terminal capability.The technical aspects of the network hardware and software are described along with the design and implementation experience and the projected costs.
