Mechatronic products such as modern cars are rapidly moving into having more functions realized by electronics and software. There are unique problems with embedded systems development (mechatronic design) and the ability of IT tools and systems to support the specific needs (Bergsjö, Vielhaber et al. 2007). The increased amount of information available, and the need to manage this
