Identification of mobile phone-associated pathogens

Mobile phones are an invaluable and ubiquitous feature of communication throughout the world. Due to frequent and careless use of mobile phones, they may be a contaminated with various pathogens. The objective of this study was to identify and characterize the mobile phone-associated pathogens. The results of the present study indicated the contamination of mobile phones with Bacillus and Pseudomonas species. The proper hand hygiene and frequent disinfection of mobile phones are possible ways to prevent the contamination.
