Australia. LOGO, a computer language in which com-munication with a turtle takes place, is being used to teach computer awareness, logi-cal thinking, computer programming and mathematics. It is used to create an environment where learning is both natural and pleasurable. LOGO is a practical application of Piaget's fundamental assertion that children learn by doing and by thinking about what they do. Some researchers are investigating the effectiveness of LOGO in a classroom situation while others are applying the basic concepts in new areas in an attempt to develop computing and robotics environments.
