Application‐Level Security

This chapter focuses on key considerations for application-level security such as password management and the related risk exposures such as segregation of duties that need to be addressed. Application-level security helps protect the financial information within an accounting information system such as QuickBooks or Microsoft Dynamics. Management and the auditor need to understand how logical security works at the application level to ensure that only appropriate individuals have access to the financial information.
