Graphics for physical tasks need to take into account the needs of users who will carry out actions in a physical environment. Research suggests that graphics need to show tasks from the users' viewpoint, and need to make clear how tools are to be used and the direction in which actions are to be exerted. The paper provides some sample graphic design guidelines.>
