Traditionally, applications in a network have been developed for static and established environment. However, pervasive computing has created a challenging environment where dynamism and mobility is its uniqueness. To cope with the heterogeneous characteristics of pervasive environments, applications must be aware of the context in which they execute. An important component is the ability to communicate spontaneously with entities (services, users and information sources) based on their current context. This paper presents our novel context sensitive communication protocol, CSCP, which is an extension of the session initiation protocol to support context based session creation, management and context information dissemination between entities in the environment In addition, the paper presents a new model for context based on the concept of ontology. We provide an agent based prototype implementation as a proof of concept.
