This chapter is about the two most frequently used tools in power users’ arsenal for working with and visualizing data. It reviews Excel and PowerPivot, and discusses important uses and cases for leveraging them in the quest to visualize data. They are the best tools to gather data and then begin visualizing and analyzing data quickly. The chapter covers some great ways to begin assembling data for analysis, and also covers the different ways one can use Excel and PowerPivot to build simple models and tables to begin using them as baselines for visualizing the data on top of them.
