Active Server Pages for .NET (ASP.NET) is the name for the Web server support in.NET. It encompasses Web pages and Web Services. Chapter 8, “Understanding Networking,” will cover Web Services, along with other networking mechanisms. ASP.NETWebForms are the equivalent to Java Server Pages (JSP). There is another lesser-known feature of ASP.NET called an HttpHandler , which bears a strong resemblance to a servlet. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
