Issues in the development of a digital forensics curriculum

Digital technology is experiencing an explosion in growth and applications. This explosion has created the new concept of the cyber criminal and the need for security and forensics experts in the digital environment. This paper discusses the theory and rationale used in the development of curricula to provide experts for today's society in the digital security arena. It covers the rationale of the curriculum at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The course content discussed will combine digital forensics theory, history and practice with related technical abilities taught in a lab environment.
