RSLs and Persistent Framework Caching

The Flex framework has become popular for many reasons, two of the main ones being it’s open source, and it provides a strong foundation for rapid application development. Like all things that seem too good to be true, there is a catch. When you develop your Flash applications in Flex, your files include the framework, meaning that even with just an empty tag, your compiled project is already up to 142K. This limitation of Flex has meant that Flex has been ill suited for many Flash applications such as shared video players (which must be as small as possible —the YouTube player is only 40K, less than a third of the size of the Flex framework without even starting to build a video player). These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
