Role of Computer and Communication Technology Education in Rural India

India's average literacy level is about 40% but less that 30% of this population can either read or write or fluently in English. Even today the majority population of the India live in rural and many villages do have neither schools nor teachers due to various socio-economic problems, although the World Wide Web and computer communication Technology has made access to tremendous volumes of information only in English at the click of a mouse. But 90% of our population excluded from this due to the near-total absence of Hardware and software and regional languages. It is always easy and necessary to educate people in local languages. This paper highlights how to make use of Computer and Communication Technology in rural India
