The DragonFlyBSD Operating System
Jeffrey M. Hsu · 2004
The DragonFlyBSD operating system is a fork of the highly successful FreeBSD operating system. Its goals are to maintain the high quality and performance of the FreeBSD 4 branch, while exploiting new concepts to further improve performance and stability. In this paper, we discuss the motivation for a new BSD operating system, new concepts being explored in the BSD context, the software infrastructure put in place to explore these concepts, and their application to the network subsystem in particular.
